Who might be able to join this trial:

• You have been diagnosed with mucosal melanoma (a type of melanoma affecting inner surfaces of the body) that has been confirmed by lab testing and surgically removed.
• You have not had radiation therapy in the area being studied.
• You are at least 16 years old.
• You are generally able to carry out daily activities, with only mild limitations at most (confirm with trial site).

Who may not be able to join:

• You have been diagnosed with another type of cancer, unless all treatment for it finished at least 2 years ago and there is no sign of it returning.
• You have already had radiation therapy to the area being studied.
• You are currently taking part in another clinical trial or using another experimental treatment.
• Your melanoma has spread to other parts of your body (metastatic disease).
• You have had a serious allergic reaction to a drug similar to the study drug (pembrolizumab).
• You have an uncontrolled serious illness, such as an active infection, unstable heart condition, or irregular heartbeat.
• You have a condition that weakens your immune system, or you have been taking immune-suppressing medications (including certain steroids above a low dose) within the 7 days before starting the study.
• You have an active autoimmune disease (where the immune system attacks the body) that has needed treatment — other than low-dose steroids or simple hormone replacement — within the past 2 years.
• You have a history of serious lung inflammation (pneumonitis or interstitial lung disease) that needed higher-dose steroid treatment, or you currently have this condition.
• You have received a live vaccine within 30 days before starting the study (non-live/killed vaccines are allowed).
• You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding, or you have a positive pregnancy test within 14 days before joining the study.
• You have HIV with a low immune cell count (below 350 CD4+ T-cells) or have had a serious HIV-related infection in the past 12 months (people with well-controlled HIV may still be eligible — confirm with trial site).
