Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are able to understand and communicate in either Setswana or English
- You have been diagnosed with a serious mental illness (SMI) such as schizophrenia, schizophreniform disorder, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, or severe depression, based on standard diagnostic guidelines
- You have been assessed and meet the criteria for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), as measured by a standard checklist called the PCL-5
Who may not be able to join:
- You are currently receiving talking therapy (psychotherapy) specifically for PTSD
- You are currently taking medication specifically prescribed to treat PTSD symptoms
- You are not able to understand or give informed consent to participate in the study
- You are not able to answer interview questions during the study
- You have had thoughts of suicide or have made a suicide attempt in the past 6 months
