Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who have been diagnosed with a specific type of nose and throat cancer called non-keratinizing nasopharyngeal carcinoma (a particular subtype confirmed by tissue testing)
• People whose cancer has been classified as a certain stage (Stage II or III) based on how far it has spread, according to standard cancer staging guidelines
• People aged between 18 and 70 years old
• People who are reasonably physically well and able to carry out normal daily activities, as measured by a standard health scoring tool (confirm with trial site)
• People whose bone marrow is functioning normally based on blood tests
• People whose cancer responded well to 3 cycles of a specific chemotherapy combination (called GP induction chemotherapy), showing either a partial or complete response
• People whose levels of a virus marker in the blood (EBV DNA) dropped to zero after completing those 3 chemotherapy cycles
• People whose liver and kidney function results fall within acceptable ranges on blood and urine tests
• People who have signed a written consent form agreeing to take part in the trial

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have a different subtype of the same cancer, specifically one called keratinized squamous cell carcinoma or basal squamous cell carcinoma
• People whose cancer has come back after previous treatment, or has spread to other parts of the body
• People whose cancer did not respond to, or continued to grow during, 3 cycles of GP induction chemotherapy
• People who still have detectable levels of the EBV virus marker in their blood after completing those 3 chemotherapy cycles
• People who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding (the trial notes that pregnancy testing should be considered for women who could become pregnant, and that effective contraception is strongly emphasised during treatment)
• People who have had another serious cancer in the past, except for certain fully treated skin cancers or a very early-stage cervical condition (confirm specific details with trial site)
• People whose cancer in the nose/throat area has already been treated with chemotherapy or surgery (other than a biopsy taken purely for diagnosis)
• People with certain serious other health conditions that could make participation risky or difficult, such as unstable heart disease, kidney disease, chronic hepatitis, poorly controlled diabetes, or significant mental illness
