  • Newborn babies born at 36 weeks or later at a Sanford Health Hospital, whose mother is 18 or older and agreed to participate before active labor began, and who will have regular check-ups at a Sanford Clinic
  • Children under 6 years old who get their regular healthcare at a Sanford facility and whose parents are able to give permission for them to take part

  • Children who the study doctor believes would not be able to follow the requirements of the study
  • Children who have already been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes
