Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Your cancer has been identified as an early stage (stage T1N0M0) and you are planned to have surgery to remove it with the goal of a cure.
  • A scan (CT scan) shows only one spot in the lung that appears mostly as a "ground glass" shadow (a faint, hazy area), with the solid part making up no more than half of the total spot size.
  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You have read and signed the consent form agreeing to take part in the trial.

Who may not be able to join:

  • After surgery, if the tissue sample shows a cancer type other than invasive adenocarcinoma (a specific type of lung cancer), you may not be eligible.
  • If you have a smaller type of surgery called a "wedge resection" but your tumor does not meet both of these specific size conditions — the solid part being no more than 25% of the total tumor size AND the total tumor being no larger than 2 cm — you may not be eligible (confirm with trial site).
  • Your surgery did not completely remove the cancer, or was not done with the goal of a cure.
  • You have a history of any other type of cancer.
  • You have previously had surgery on your chest or lungs.
  • You have previously received radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or any other cancer treatments.
