Who might be able to join this trial:

  • The participant must be a child or teenager between 2 and 17 years old at the time of joining the trial
  • The participant must have been diagnosed with Behçet's disease (a condition that causes recurring sores and inflammation in the body) using standard international diagnostic criteria
  • The participant must have had mouth sores (ulcers) at least 3 times in the 12 months before their first screening appointment
  • The participant must have at least 2 mouth ulcers present at both their screening appointment and on the first day of the trial
  • The participant must have already tried at least one non-biologic treatment for Behçet's disease, such as steroid creams or other medicines taken by mouth or otherwise

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose Behçet's disease is currently causing serious problems in major organs, such as the lungs, blood vessels, digestive system, brain, or eyes requiring strong immune-suppressing medicines — however, if these problems happened more than 1 year ago and are no longer active, joining may still be possible (confirm with trial site)
  • People with mild eye-related symptoms from Behçet's disease that do not need strong immune-suppressing medicines may still be allowed to join (confirm with trial site)
  • People who have joint or skin symptoms related to Behçet's disease are still allowed to join
  • People who have previously been treated with biologic medicines (a specific type of advanced therapy) specifically for Behçet's disease mouth ulcers — however, if biologic medicines were used for a different reason or a different symptom of Behçet's disease, joining may still be possible (confirm with trial site)
