Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are an adult who has been diagnosed with fat in the liver (called hepatic steatosis), confirmed by at least one of the following:
- A liver ultrasound scan that shows a "bright liver" (meaning the liver appears brighter than normal on the scan)
- A special ultrasound measurement called CAP that gives a reading of 248 or higher (confirm with trial site)
- A CT scan, MRI, or a related scan (MRS) that has confirmed fat in the liver
- An MRI-based fat measurement (called MRI-PDFF) showing that more than 8% of your liver is made up of fat
- A liver biopsy (a small tissue sample taken from the liver) that has confirmed a fatty liver
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have been diagnosed with liver cancer or any other type of cancer
- People who are currently pregnant
- People who have previously had a liver transplant
- People who have had a serious heart or brain event, such as a heart attack, stroke, or bleeding in the brain
