Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are aged 18 or older but under 65 years old
- People who are able to understand the study information and agree to take part before any study procedures begin
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a known structural brain condition, such as a brain tumor or a previous stroke
- People who have a reason they cannot safely have an MRI or PET scan, including any of the following:
- People who wear a life vest
- People who have an implanted heart device, such as a pacemaker or defibrillator (ICD)
- People who have a metal fragment or foreign object in their body
- People who have any other device or implant that is not safe to use with an MRI, such as an insulin pump, joint replacement, hearing aid, cochlear implant, or permanent contraceptive devices
- People who experience severe claustrophobia (extreme fear of enclosed spaces)
- People who have a reason they cannot receive the contrast dye called Dotarem, including a history of kidney disease or severely reduced kidney function, a history of diabetes, lupus, multiple myeloma, a condition called nephrogenic systemic fibrosis, or other serious health conditions (confirm with trial site)
- People who have had an allergic or hypersensitive reaction to Dotarem or any gadolinium-based contrast agent in the past
- People whose radiation exposure from medical procedures in the past 12 months has already reached or exceeded the Radiology Department's current safety limit of 50 mSv
- Women who have a positive pregnancy test, are currently breastfeeding, or where the possibility of pregnancy cannot be ruled out before the study dose is given
- People who are unable to provide written consent to participate
- People who have a significant acute or unstable physical or psychiatric condition that the study investigators determine would make participation unsafe or unsuitable, based on medical history or a physical examination
- People whose blood test results are considered by the study investigators to be incompatible with safe participation in the trial
