Who might be able to join this trial:
- Men and women aged 50 or older who have been diagnosed with osteoporosis (weakened bones)
- People with either high blood pressure or normal blood pressure are welcome
- People whose bone density scan (DEXA scan) shows a T-score of -2.5 or lower, meaning their bone density is significantly below the normal peak level
Who may not be able to join:
- People currently taking certain blood pressure or heart medications, including ACE inhibitors, ARBs (angiotensin receptor blockers), thiazide diuretics, nitrates, spironolactone, or statins, as these may improve bone health and could affect the trial results
- People currently taking medications that may weaken bones, including corticosteroids (such as prednisone), loop diuretics (such as furosemide), anti-seizure medications, antidepressants, aromatase inhibitors, thyroid replacement therapy, or proton pump inhibitors (such as omeprazole)
