Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have had migraines (with or without aura) for at least 6 months before the screening appointment.
  • You have had between 1 and 8 moderate or severe migraine attacks per month in the 2 months before screening.
  • You had at least 1 migraine day that needed treatment during the observation period of the study.
  • If you are already taking medication to prevent migraines, the dose has stayed the same for at least 12 weeks before the screening appointment.
  • You are able to tell the difference between a migraine and other types of headaches.
  • You weigh more than 15 kg (for participants in EU countries aged 12 to under 18, you must weigh more than 25 kg).
  • You have suitable veins that allow blood to be taken for testing.
  • You are between 6 and 17 years old (you must not have turned 18 by the time of the baseline visit).

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have a history of cluster headaches or a specific type of migraine called hemiplegic migraine.
  • You have another significant pain condition that could interfere with the study results (confirm with trial site).
  • You have a current psychiatric (mental health) condition that has not been properly treated or controlled for at least 6 months, or you have a lifetime history of psychosis or mania.
  • You have a history of suicidal behaviour or are considered at risk of harming yourself or others.
  • You have a history of a major psychiatric (mental health) disorder.
  • You currently have or have had a history of substance abuse.
  • You are currently using, or tested positive at screening for, drugs of abuse.
