Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are aged 18 years or older but under 65 years old
- People who have active CLL (chronic lymphocytic leukaemia) or SLL (small lymphocytic lymphoma) that currently needs treatment, based on international guidelines from 2018
- People who have never previously received treatment for CLL or SLL
- People whose bone marrow is functioning at an adequate level, including having sufficient white blood cell, platelet, and haemoglobin counts (confirm with trial site for specific numbers)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have previously received any treatment for CLL or SLL
- People who have a history of another cancer, unless it was a very early-stage non-invasive cancer or one that was treated with the aim of a full cure
- People who have a known or suspected history of a condition called Richter's transformation, where CLL changes into a more aggressive type of lymphoma
- People who have a known allergy or sensitivity to any of the medications used in this trial
- People whose kidneys are not functioning well enough (below a certain threshold that the trial site can confirm)
- People who have uncontrolled autoimmune conditions that cause the immune system to destroy red blood cells or platelets
- People who are currently taking the blood-thinning medication warfarin or similar medicines
- People who have taken steroid medicines for cancer treatment within 7 days before the start of the trial
- People who have taken certain medications that can interfere with how the body processes drugs (known as moderate or strong CYP3A inhibitors or inducers) within 7 days before the start of the trial (confirm specific medications with trial site)
