Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People who have been newly diagnosed with AML (acute myeloid leukaemia) that has not yet been treated, including de novo (arising on its own), secondary (arising from another condition), or treatment-related AML
- People who have AML that has come back after treatment or has stopped responding to treatment, including de novo, secondary, or treatment-related AML
- People who have health insurance coverage
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a specific type of leukaemia called acute promyelocytic leukaemia (APL)
- People whose AML has not been confirmed by examining cells under a microscope (note: people with a related condition called granulocytic sarcoma may still be considered)
- People newly diagnosed with AML who have previously received treatment for leukaemia, other than a medication called hydroxyurea — though prior treatments given before the AML diagnosis, to treat a related blood or bone marrow condition, may be allowed (confirm with trial site)
- People who weigh less than 50 kilograms
- People who do not wish to take part in this observational study
