Who might be able to join this trial:

- You are having your first hip replacement surgery (not a revision or repeat procedure)
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part
- You are already scheduled to have a routine CT scan before your surgery as part of your normal care
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a bone disease (other than osteoporosis) that could affect the study results, such as a genetic bone disorder or a bone tumor
- You have had a hip replacement on your other (opposite) hip, or have any other implanted devices in that opposite hip
- You already have any metal implants or surgical hardware in the hip that is being operated on
