Who might be able to join this trial:
- Children and teenagers aged 5 to under 18 years old at the time of joining the trial.
- People who have been diagnosed with juvenile psoriatic arthritis (a type of childhood arthritis linked to the skin condition psoriasis) for at least 6 months, confirmed using specific international classification guidelines.
- The diagnosis must fit one of these patterns: joint inflammation plus psoriasis, OR joint inflammation plus at least 2 of the following — swollen fingers or toes (dactylitis), pitting or separation of the nails, or a parent or sibling with psoriasis.
- People with at least 3 actively inflamed joints at the time of joining.
- People who have not responded well enough to, or could not tolerate, at least one arthritis medication (such as methotrexate or a biologic drug) taken for at least 2 months.
Who may not be able to join:
- Males who carry a specific genetic marker (HLA-B27 positive) and whose joint inflammation began after age 6.
- People who have, or whose parent or sibling has, certain related conditions such as ankylosing spondylitis, inflammatory bowel disease with joint involvement, Reiter's syndrome, or recurring eye inflammation (acute anterior uveitis).
- People who have tested positive for a specific antibody called IgM rheumatoid factor on at least two separate occasions, at least 3 months apart.
- People who have a form of childhood arthritis that affects the whole body (systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis).
- People with other autoimmune or inflammatory conditions affecting the joints or connective tissue, such as lupus, scleroderma, polymyositis, mixed connective tissue disease, or fibromyalgia.
- People who have had, or currently have, other types of inflammatory joint disease unrelated to psoriatic arthritis, such as gout, rheumatoid arthritis, reactive arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, or Lyme disease.
