Who might be able to join this trial:
For people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS):
- You are between 18 and 65 years old
- You have been officially diagnosed with MS using standard medical guidelines (2017 McDonald criteria)
- Your level of physical disability falls within a specific measured range (confirm with trial site for details on the EDSS score 0–6.5)
- You have either a relapsing or progressive form of MS
- Your MS symptoms have been stable for at least one month before the study begins
- You have been on the same MS medication for at least 6 months
For healthy volunteers (people without MS):
- You have normal hearing and normal vision (glasses or contact lenses are acceptable)
Who may not be able to join:
For people with MS:
- People who may be unable or unwilling to follow the study's requirements
- People who have another condition affecting the brain or nervous system that is similar to MS
- People who have another active immune system disease (other than MS), or a stable immune condition being treated with immune therapy
- People who have another significant brain or nervous system condition, or a serious mental health condition that could affect their ability to participate
- People who are unable or unwilling to have MRI scans and EEG brain activity tests
For healthy volunteers:
- People who have any diagnosed neurological, mental, developmental, or psychiatric condition
- People who have not fully recovered from a neurological event such as a stroke or brain injury
- People whose medications have changed or been unstable in the last 3 months
- People who are currently taking medications that affect the brain or nervous system (such as antidepressants)
- People with a serious physical health condition
- People who are currently taking part in another relevant research study
- People who are unable or unwilling to have an EEG brain activity test
