Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who have been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS)
• People who have moderate to severe difficulty walking, but are still able to walk while wearing a robotic exoskeleton device, as determined by trial staff
• People who show some difficulty with thinking and problem-solving, based on a test taken at the screening visit
• People between the ages of 18 and 75
• People who have not had a flare-up of MS symptoms for at least one month before testing begins
• People who are willing to discuss with trial staff how to keep their spasticity medication (such as baclofen) at a consistent level throughout the study
• People who are able to walk, with or without assistive devices such as a cane or walker
• People whose primary language is English
• People whose body size fits within the exoskeleton device requirements: height between 60 and 76 inches, and weight under 220 lbs
• People who are able to stand upright for 30 minutes, with assistance if needed
• People whose joints have a normal range of motion for walking, as determined by trial staff
• People who have enough strength to use a hemiwalker, bilateral canes, or a walker while wearing the exoskeleton
• People who have stable blood pressure
• People who are willing and able to give informed consent
• People who are able and willing to follow study procedures, verbal instructions, and all follow-up requirements

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have a history of head injury, stroke, seizures, or any significant neurological condition other than MS
• People whose thinking and problem-solving difficulties are severe enough to prevent participation, as determined by a test taken at the screening visit
• People who are currently taking steroids, benzodiazepines, antipsychotics, or neuroleptic medications, as reviewed by trial staff
• People who are pregnant
• People who rely entirely on a wheelchair for mobility
• People who have joint stiffness or tightness in any limb that limits normal movement during walking, as determined by trial staff
• People who have skin conditions that would prevent them from wearing the exoskeleton device
• People who have a pressure sore at stage 2 or higher in an area that could be affected by weight bearing or wearing the device harness
• People who have orthopaedic problems or a history of orthopaedic issues that could interfere with walking or limit leg movement (for example, knee replacement or joint inflammation)
• People who have been hospitalised for a heart attack, heart surgery, or acute heart failure within the 3 months before enrolling in the study
• People who have other medical conditions that their doctor or physical therapist believes would affect their ability to safely use the robotic device
• People who have a pacemaker, implanted electrical device, brain stimulator, metal aneurysm clip, metallic prostheses (including metal pins or rods, heart valves, or cochlear implants), permanent eyeliner, implanted medication pumps, or shrapnel fragments in their body
• People who have dental implants — trial staff should be consulted about this directly (confirm with trial site)
• People whose doctor has advised that it is not safe for them to have a standard MRI as part of their medical care
