Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You have been diagnosed with a "clinically isolated syndrome" (CIS) — this means you have had a first episode of neurological symptoms that may or may not suggest the early stages of MS (confirm with trial site)
- You are covered by a health insurance plan
- (For the "Aggressive MS" group) You started a second-level MS treatment within two years of your first episode
- (For the "Non-aggressive MS" group) You either did not go on to develop full MS within 2 years of your first episode, or you did develop MS and were treated (or not treated) with a first-level MS medication within 2 years — and you have at least 2 years of medical follow-up records
- (For healthy volunteers) You are 18 or older and have never had a neurological episode linked to MS or a CIS diagnosis
Who may not be able to join:
- You are currently taking part in another clinical study
- You are not willing to have your genetic information analysed
- You are currently taking medication that suppresses your immune system
- You have had a plasma exchange treatment or taken corticosteroids (anti-inflammatory steroids) within the past four weeks before giving a blood sample
- You are under a legal protection arrangement, such as guardianship or trusteeship (confirm with trial site)
- You are currently pregnant
