Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are between 18 and 85 years old
  • A CT scan of your lungs has shown a "ground glass opacity" (a hazy patch on the scan) that has not gone away after 3 months, confirmed by a follow-up detailed CT scan
  • The hazy patch on your lung scan is larger than 8mm but smaller than 3cm at its widest point
  • If you have a single patch: it has either clearly grown over time, or the denser (solid) part within it has grown by 2mm or more
  • You are not able to have surgery due to health reasons, you have multiple patches that cannot all be removed by surgery, or you have already had surgery on the same side of your chest
  • You are able to understand the study requirements and have signed a written consent form

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have taken part in another clinical trial for a drug or medical device within the last month
  • You have a serious or severe illness (confirm with trial site)
  • You have an allergy to narcotic/anaesthetic drugs
  • You have another autoimmune disease (a condition where your immune system attacks your own body)
  • You have dementia or a cognitive (thinking or memory) problem that would make it difficult to work with the research team
  • You have received any other local treatment to the affected area (other than ablation) within the 4 weeks before joining the study
