Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Women aged 22–26 years who live in the local area covered by the screening program
  • Women who have not opted out of the cervical screening program and who agree to take part in the study
  • Women who attend a screening appointment and agree to have an HPV (human papillomavirus) test as part of routine screening
  • Women who agree to be offered the HPV vaccine (Gardasil 9) as part of the study, even if a previous HPV vaccine was received in the past

Who may not be able to join:

  • Women with a known history of a severe allergic reaction or hypersensitivity to any ingredient in the Gardasil 9 vaccine, including amorphous aluminium hydroxyphosphate sulphate adjuvant, sodium chloride, L-histidine, polysorbate 80, or sodium borate
  • Women with a known history of immune system disorders
  • Women who are currently experiencing a serious illness with a high fever (minor illnesses such as a cold, mild upper respiratory infection, or low-grade fever may not be affected — confirm with trial site)
  • Women who have received immunoglobulin or any blood-derived products within the 6 months before the first scheduled vaccine dose
  • Women who are currently pregnant
  • Women who have had a full hysterectomy (complete surgical removal of the uterus)
