Who might be able to join this trial:

• You have been diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) confirmed by a tissue test
• You are over 18 years old
• You are generally active and able to care for yourself with little or no help (confirm with trial site)
• Your lungs are strong enough to handle surgery to remove part of the lung, based on breathing tests
• Your cancer is at a stage that can be surgically removed (stages IB to IIIB), and your surgical team believes a complete removal is possible
• If cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes, those nodes must not be growing into surrounding tissues
• A chest surgeon has assessed you and agreed you are healthy enough to safely undergo major lung surgery
• You have never had radiation treatment to the chest area before
• Your blood, liver, and kidney test results are within acceptable ranges
• You are able to understand and sign a consent form, or have someone who can do this on your behalf
• You are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding
• If you are a woman who could become pregnant, you are willing to use two forms of birth control, or abstain from sex, from the start of the study until 5 months after the last dose
• If you are a woman, you are either past menopause or have a negative pregnancy test before starting the trial
• You are willing and able to attend all required appointments and follow-up visits throughout the study
• If you are a man, you agree to use contraception from your first dose until 7 months after your last dose

Who may not be able to join:

• You do not have a confirmed diagnosis of non-small cell lung cancer
• You are 18 years old or younger
• Your general health or activity level is too limited to tolerate treatment (confirm with trial site)
• Your lung function is not strong enough to safely handle lung surgery
• Your cancer is not at a surgically removable stage, or a complete surgical removal is not considered possible
• The cancer has spread to lymph nodes that are growing into surrounding structures
• A chest surgeon has determined you are not healthy enough for major lung surgery, or you have serious other health conditions that make surgery too risky
• You have had radiation treatment to the chest in the past
• Your blood, liver, or kidney test results fall outside the acceptable ranges
• You are unable to give consent and do not have someone who can do so on your behalf
• You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
• If you are a woman who could become pregnant, you are unwilling to use required birth control methods
• You are a man unwilling to use contraception during and after the study treatment period
• You are unable or unwilling to attend required visits and follow all study procedures
