Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have recently had a type of heart attack called a STEMI (where a specific pattern shows up on a heart tracing)
- People aged 18 to 80 years
- People whose blood sugar control measure (HbA1c) is below 9.0%
- People who have been diagnosed with diabetes, based on an HbA1c of 6.5% or above and/or an abnormal blood sugar response test

Who may not be able to join:
- People with certain specific types of diabetes as classified by medical guidelines, or gestational diabetes (diabetes during pregnancy)
- People who are currently pregnant
- People who have an active infection or fever
- People who are taking medications that suppress the immune system
- People with severe long-term kidney, liver, or heart disease (confirm with trial site for specific measurements)
- People with a current or active cancer diagnosis
- People with a severe long-term psychiatric illness or substance addiction
- People who are currently taking part in another clinical intervention trial
