Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adult males aged 20 years or older (healthy volunteers are not accepted — participants must have a bladder condition)
- People diagnosed with certain types of bladder cancer, including carcinoma in situ, high-grade early-stage bladder cancer (T1G3), or muscle-invasive bladder cancer at a specific stage (cT2–T3, not spread to lymph nodes or other organs)
- Patients whose bladder cancer had spread into the muscle but responded well to pre-surgery treatment and is now at a lower stage may also be considered, based on their own wishes
- People with bladder cancer that has come back after previous treatment, or carcinoma in situ that did not respond to BCG vaccine treatment
- People who are in good general health or have only minor limitations in daily activity (based on a standard medical fitness score of 0 or 1)
- People who are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose kidneys are not working well enough, shown by a high creatinine level in the blood (above a certain threshold — confirm with trial site)
- People whose cancer has spread into the prostate or urethra, confirmed by a tissue test
- People whose cancer has spread to other parts of the body (distant metastasis)
- People with an abnormal PSA blood test result or a suspected but unconfirmed prostate cancer diagnosis
- People who have had another type of cancer within the past three years
- People with long-term inflammation of part of the large bowel, such as ulcerative colitis or intestinal tuberculosis
- People with serious heart, lung, or liver problems, or other significant health conditions
- People who a urologist has determined are not suitable for a specific type of bladder reconstruction surgery (neobladder surgery) for any other reason
