Who might be able to join this trial:
- Women between the ages of 18 and 45 who are healthy, either taking the birth control pill or having regular periods every 26 to 34 days (for the control group)
- Women between the ages of 18 and 45 who have been diagnosed with endometriosis through a keyhole surgery performed by their own doctor within the last 5 years
- Women who take Tylenol (acetaminophen) for sudden pain are still eligible
- Women who use contraception are still eligible
Who may not be able to join:
- People who use any nicotine products, such as cigarettes, vaping, or chewing tobacco
- People who have diabetes (confirm with trial site)
- People with high blood pressure above 140/90
- People taking certain medications that affect blood flow or blood sugar control, such as heart or insulin-related medicines (confirm with trial site)
- People who are currently pregnant
- People who are currently breastfeeding
- People who use illegal or recreational drugs
- People who have abnormal liver function
- People with skin rashes, skin conditions, unusual skin coloring, or known skin allergies
- People who have been diagnosed with, or are suspected to have, heart or metabolic disease
- People with ongoing, unexplained elevated liver enzyme levels in their blood (confirm with trial site)
- People with a known allergy to latex, salsalate, or simvastatin
- People with a history of bleeding in the digestive system
