Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults between 18 and 75 years old, of any gender
- People who are able to carry out daily activities with little to no limitation (as measured by a standard health scale called ECOG, with a score of 0 to 2)
- People who have been confirmed by a tissue biopsy to have a specific type of mouth cancer called oral squamous cell carcinoma, affecting areas such as the tongue, gums, cheeks, floor of the mouth, hard palate, or the area behind the back teeth
- People whose cancer is at a moderately advanced stage (Stage III or IVA based on international staging guidelines)
- People whose cancer cells show a high level of a protein called PD-L1, with a combined positive score greater than 10 (this is measured by a lab test on the cancer tissue)
- People who have read and signed a consent form agreeing to take part in the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are still experiencing significant side effects from a previous cancer treatment that have not fully resolved
- People who have had serious heart problems, such as a heart attack or significant heart disease, within the 3 months before joining
- People who currently have a serious active infection
- People with high blood pressure that cannot be controlled with medication (above 150/90 mmHg), or who have had a stroke, heart attack, unstable chest pain, significant heart failure, or serious irregular heartbeat within 6 months before the screening visit
- People whose blood test results show low levels of white blood cells, red blood cells (haemoglobin), or platelets
- People whose liver function tests show results significantly above the normal range
- People whose kidney function tests show creatinine levels significantly above the normal range
- People who have previously had radiotherapy to the face, jaw, or neck area
- People who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
- People who have participated in another clinical trial within the 30 days before joining
- People whom the trial doctors consider unsuitable for participation for any other reason (confirm with trial site)
