Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People aged 18 or older
  • People who have had surgery for a head and neck cancer (including cancers of the upper throat and airway, nasopharynx, facial sinuses, skull base, or brain)
  • People whose surgery either fully removed the tumour, or left only a very small amount that could only be seen under a microscope
  • People with any of these cancer types: squamous cell carcinoma, undifferentiated nasopharyngeal carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, adenoid cystic carcinoma, chordoma, chondrosarcoma, meningioma, or other tumour types
  • People who are receiving radiotherapy after surgery, with a total dose of at least 54 Gy using standard X-ray radiation or the equivalent using proton radiation
  • People who are enrolled in a social security or health insurance scheme (this criterion relates to French healthcare registration — confirm with trial site)
  • People who have signed a consent form before any study-related procedures begin

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have a visible tumour remaining after surgery that could be seen without a microscope
  • People who have had another cancer in the past 5 years (except certain treated skin cancers or treated cervical cancer)
  • People who have had radiotherapy before (except a specific internal radiation treatment to the cervix or prostate)
  • People who are receiving chemotherapy or other cancer-targeting treatments such as cetuximab at the same time as their radiotherapy
  • People who are on long-term immunosuppressive medications or long-term corticosteroid (steroid) therapy
  • People who are subject to a legal guardianship order or whose personal freedoms are restricted
  • People for whom regular trial follow-up visits would not be possible due to where they live, their personal circumstances, or mental health reasons
  • Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • People in emergency medical situations
