Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are over 18 years old
• You have signed a written consent form before any study activities begin
• You have been diagnosed with a specific type of interstitial lung disease (ILD), which includes: idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), chronic hypersensitivity pneumonitis-related ILD, connective tissue disease-related ILD, or pneumoconiosis (a lung disease caused by inhaling certain dusts)
• You have had a daily cough for at least 8 weeks
• You are able to produce a mucus (sputum) sample when given help to do so through a special breathing procedure

Who may not be able to join:

• You have been diagnosed with systemic sclerosis-related ILD or sarcoidosis
• Your cough has a known cause, such as a reaction to a blood pressure medication (ACE inhibitor), uncontrolled acid reflux, an upper airway condition, or a recent viral illness
• You are currently using inhaled steroid medication
• You are currently taking oral or systemic steroid medication at a relatively high daily dose (confirm with trial site)
• You are currently taking long-term antibiotic medication
• You have reduced airflow in your lungs based on a breathing test result (confirm with trial site)
• You have a doctor-confirmed diagnosis of asthma
• You have a history of emphysema (a type of lung damage)
• You have previously had liver problems or a type of jaundice linked to use of a medication called azithromycin
• You have moderate to severe liver disease based on a specific medical scoring system (confirm with trial site)
• You have a known allergy or sensitivity to inhaled steroids or a group of antibiotics called macrolides (which includes azithromycin)
• A heart test (ECG) done at screening shows an abnormal heart rhythm measurement above a certain level (confirm with trial site)
• You have a known, untreated infection with a type of bacteria called atypical mycobacteria
• You have a history of hearing loss, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), or dizziness/balance problems (vertigo)
• You are taking medications that are likely to reduce coughing, such as morphine, gabapentin, or amitriptyline
