Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are veterans
- People who speak English and are able to give written consent to participate
- People who have been diagnosed with PTSD
- People who are between 18 and 60 years of age
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a history of seizures or serious neurological conditions, including brain conditions that were acquired, present from development, or degenerative in nature
- People who are currently pregnant
- People who currently experience psychosis, a psychotic disorder, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia, or another severe cognitive or psychiatric condition
- People who currently have thoughts of suicide with a specific plan (confirm with trial site for how this is assessed)
- People who currently have a substance use disorder, or who have used substances in the 12 hours before a treatment session
- People who have a moderate or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) — note that people with mild TBI or concussion may still be eligible
- People whose results on a standard cognitive screening test fall below a certain threshold, or whose estimated baseline intellectual ability falls below a certain level on a word reading test
- People who are currently taking part in a structured, evidence-based psychotherapy program — note that people in long-term supportive (non-structured) therapy may still be eligible
- People whose psychiatric medications have not been at a stable dose for at least four weeks before the study begins, or who are unable to remain stable on their medications throughout the study
