Who might be able to join this trial:

• You speak English
• You are between 13 years old and 23 years and 11 months old
• You have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder (BD) through a clinical interview, OR you have a biological parent or sibling who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder (type I or II)
• If you have bipolar disorder type I, you are currently taking at least one medication to help stabilize your mood (such as a mood stabilizer, antipsychotic, or lithium)
• You are currently seeing a psychiatrist for ongoing care
• In the past year, you have made at least one suicide attempt, taken steps toward a suicide attempt, or engaged in self-harm in the past 3 months — OR — you have shown significant impulsive behaviors, as assessed using specific clinical tools (confirm with trial site)
• You are willing and able to give your agreement to take part in the study (or a parent/guardian can do so on your behalf if needed)

Who may not be able to join:

• You have an intellectual disability, moderate to severe autism spectrum disorder, or a brain-related condition that would make it difficult to actively take part in the therapy being studied
• You have a serious, life-threatening medical condition that needs immediate treatment
• You are currently experiencing sexual or physical abuse
• You currently have a substance use disorder, unless it is a mild cannabis or alcohol use disorder
