Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have had a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) along with removal of the fallopian tubes, and lymph node removal or mapping in the pelvis, with or without removal of the ovaries or nearby lymph nodes near the aorta.
- People whose cancer has been confirmed by a tissue sample as a specific type called endometrioid endometrial carcinoma, at an early stage (Stage I or II using 2009 FIGO staging), with certain combinations of stage and tumour grade: Stage IA Grade 3, Stage IB Grade 1 or 2, Stage IB Grade 3, or Stage II.
- People with a general health and activity level rated 0, 1, or 2 on the WHO performance scale, meaning they are able to carry out at least some daily activities (confirm with trial site).
- People who have given written consent to participate in the trial.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have cancer cells still remaining in the body after surgery.
- People whose endometrial cancer is at a different stage or of a different type than those specified above.
- People whose cancer is of a type called serous carcinoma, clear cell carcinoma (making up at least 10% if the cancer is a mixed type), undifferentiated carcinoma, or neuroendocrine carcinoma.
- People whose diagnosis is a uterine sarcoma, including a type called carcinosarcoma.
- People who have had a previous cancer diagnosis, other than certain non-melanoma skin cancers.
- People who have previously had radiotherapy to the pelvic area.
- People for whom the gap between surgery and the start of radiotherapy is expected to be longer than 8 weeks.
