Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been assessed as generally healthy by a doctor, based on a full health check including physical exam, blood pressure, heart rate, heart tracing (ECG), and blood tests
- You are between 18 and 65 years old (inclusive)
- Your Body Mass Index (BMI) is between 30 and 40, and your weight is between 70 kg (about 154 lbs) and 150 kg (about 330 lbs)
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form before joining the study
- If you are a woman who could become pregnant, you must be willing to use two forms of contraception, at least one of which is a highly effective method with a failure rate of less than 1% per year when used correctly
Who may not be able to join:
- You have any abnormal result from your health check (blood pressure, heart rate, or ECG) that a doctor considers medically significant
- Your resting heart rate is above 100 beats per minute, your top blood pressure number is 160 or higher, or your bottom blood pressure number is 95 or higher
- Your blood test results show certain high levels, specifically: LDL cholesterol above 160 mg/dL, total cholesterol above 240 mg/dL, triglycerides above 200 mg/dL, or fasting blood sugar above 126 mg/dL and/or a blood sugar average (HbA1c) above 6.5%
- You have type 1 or type 2 diabetes, or any other ongoing medical condition that a doctor considers significant
- You have significant problems affecting your stomach, gut, liver, kidneys, lungs, heart, immune system, or hormones
- You have any condition affecting your brain or nervous system, including seizures of any kind, or a relevant psychiatric disorder
- You have a history of significant dizziness when standing up, fainting, or blacking out
- You or a close family member have a history of a specific type of thyroid cancer (medullary thyroid carcinoma) or a related condition called multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2, or you currently have an underactive or overactive thyroid
