Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old
  • You have been diagnosed with stage III or IV ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, or primary peritoneal cancer that has been confirmed by a pathology test, OR you have one of these cancers that has come back and is still responding to platinum-based chemotherapy (after no more than 4 rounds of previous treatment)
  • Scans have shown that the cancer has spread to certain lymph nodes near the liver and stomach area, and the surgeon can feel enlarged lymph nodes during the operation
  • The surgical team has assessed that it is possible to completely remove the cancer based on scans done before surgery
  • You may have received 1 to 3 rounds of chemotherapy before surgery in an initial (primary) treatment setting
  • If your cancer has come back, it must have been at least 6 months since you last received platinum-based chemotherapy
  • You are in generally good health as measured by standard medical scoring tools (ASA score 1–2 and ECOG score 0–2)
  • Your blood counts, kidney function, and liver function are at levels healthy enough to receive chemotherapy and undergo surgery (confirm with trial site for specific numbers)
  • You are willing and able to follow the study plan and attend follow-up appointments
  • You are able to give written consent to participate

Who may not be able to join:

  • Your ovarian, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer is not of the "epithelial" type
  • You have a low-grade (slow-growing) form of the cancer
  • You have mucinous ovarian cancer (a specific subtype)
  • The surgical team has determined that complete removal of the cancer is not possible based on pre-surgery scans
  • Scans show that the cancer has spread in ways that cannot be operated on, such as in the lungs, liver tissue, multiple chest lymph nodes, brain, or bones
  • During surgery, cancer is found spread widely across the small bowel area in a way that cannot be adequately treated with bowel surgery
  • Your cancer continued to grow or spread during chemotherapy given before surgery
  • You have had another type of cancer within the last 5 years (except for certain non-invasive cancers or breast cancer with no signs of return)
  • You have other health conditions that would make surgery or chemotherapy unsafe or would make it hard to follow the study plan
  • There are other personal, psychological, or religious factors that might prevent you from giving consent or following the study requirements
