Who might be able to join this trial:

• People aged 60 or older who are veterans
• People who live in the Denver Metro Area
• People who are generally active, such as those who regularly walk or cycle for recreation

Who may not be able to join:

• People whose kidneys are not functioning well enough (based on a blood test result called eGFR being below a certain level)
• People with liver or gallbladder disease (based on liver blood test results being too high)
• People with a thyroid condition where thyroid hormone levels fall outside a specific range
• People with calcium levels in the blood that are too low or too high
• People with low vitamin D levels in the blood
• People with uncontrolled high blood pressure, where resting blood pressure readings are above a certain level
• People with a history of type 1 or type 2 diabetes
• People with heart disease, including signs of reduced blood flow to the heart or serious irregular heart rhythms, either at rest or during a supervised exercise test (note: people with an uncertain exercise test result may be reconsidered after further heart testing reviewed by a heart specialist)
• People with low red blood cell levels (anaemia), based on blood test results falling below a set level for women or men
• People who have had a bone fracture in the past 6 months
• People who currently have COVID-19 or are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms (people who have recovered and have been cleared to return to exercise by their doctor may be eligible to participate)
