Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are a woman aged 50 or older who has gone through menopause (meaning you have had no periods or bleeding for at least 1 year)
- You have been referred for a colposcopy (a close-up examination of the cervix) because you tested positive for HPV and/or had an abnormal cervical smear result
- You have been referred for a colposcopy because a previous cervical tissue sample came back abnormal, and it has been at least 6 months since your last colposcopy with biopsies (tissue samples)
Who may not be able to join:
- You have used any form of estrogen (a hormone, which can come as tablets, patches, creams, or other forms) in the last 3 months
- You have previously had radiotherapy to the cervix, surgical removal of part or all of the cervix, or a cone biopsy (a procedure to remove a cone-shaped piece of cervical tissue)
- You are currently pregnant
