For organ transplant recipients:

  • You are 18 years of age or older
  • You have received a solid organ transplant (kidney, liver, lung, or heart)
  • You have been on a stable anti-rejection medication plan for at least 3 months
  • You are showing no signs that your body is currently rejecting your transplanted organ
  • You currently live in Denmark
  • You are willing and able to give written consent to take part

For the control group (non-transplant participants):

  • You are 18 years of age or older and in general good health
  • You are not taking any medications that suppress the immune system and do not have a condition that affects your immune system
  • You currently live in Denmark
  • You are willing and able to give written consent to take part

Who may not be able to join:

For organ transplant recipients:

  • You have also had a bone marrow transplant
  • You have had a full hysterectomy (complete surgical removal of the womb)

For the control group:

  • You have had a full hysterectomy (complete surgical removal of the womb)
