Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older (male or female)
- You have been diagnosed with advanced melanoma (skin cancer) that either cannot be surgically removed (Stage III) or has spread to other parts of the body (Stage IV), including cases where the original source of the melanoma is unknown
- You have not yet received any treatment for your advanced or metastatic melanoma
- You are about to start immunotherapy as your treatment
- Your general health and ability to carry out daily activities is good or only mildly limited (confirm with trial site)
- Your melanoma has been tested for a gene change called BRAF (any result is acceptable)
- If you are a woman who could become pregnant, you must be willing to use effective contraception during the study
- You are covered by a social security or health insurance plan (confirm with trial site)
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- Your melanoma started in the eye or in mucous membranes (such as inside the mouth or nose), or your melanoma has spread from the eye
- Your advanced melanoma is being treated with targeted therapy drugs rather than immunotherapy
- You have certain health conditions that make starting immunotherapy unsafe, such as HIV, hepatitis B or C, an active autoimmune disease (for example, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, or vasculitis), or a nerve condition such as Guillain-Barré syndrome
- You are a minor, or an adult who is under legal guardianship, court protection, or who does not have full personal freedom (confirm with trial site)
- You have a history of serious psychiatric illness or addiction that could affect your ability to consent or follow the study procedures
- You have any other health condition that the lead doctor feels could affect the study results or put you at risk
