Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have been diagnosed through a uteroscopy procedure with either a pre-cancerous thickening of the uterine lining (endometrial atypical hyperplasia) or a very early-stage, low-grade uterine cancer that has not grown into the uterine muscle wall
  • People with a body mass index (BMI) below 30 kg/m²
  • People whose scans (MRI, CT, or ultrasound) show no signs that the condition has spread outside the uterus
  • People who are currently being treated with a hormone medicine called progestin, through one of these approaches: megestrol acetate at a certain dose (with or without a hormonal coil), medroxyprogesterone acetate at a certain dose (with or without a hormonal coil), or a hormonal coil (LNG-IUS) on its own
  • People whose condition has not responded well enough to progestin treatment — either remaining stable after 7 months of treatment, or not achieving full remission after 10 months
  • People who wish to preserve their ability to have children or to keep their uterus
  • People who are able to attend follow-up appointments and comply with additional treatments as required by the trial

Who may not be able to join:

  • People with serious other medical conditions or significantly reduced liver or kidney function
  • People whose cancer has been confirmed to have grown into the uterine muscle wall or spread beyond the uterus
  • People with other types of uterine cancer or other cancers of the reproductive system
  • People with breast cancer or other cancers or conditions that are affected by hormones, which may prevent the use of certain trial medications (confirm with trial site)
  • People who strongly prefer to have their uterus surgically removed or to pursue a different type of treatment
  • People who are known or suspected to be pregnant
  • People with a serious acute condition such as a recent stroke or heart attack, or a history of blood clot disorders
  • People who smoke more than 15 cigarettes per day
