Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are male and 18 years of age or older
- You have been diagnosed with a type of bladder cancer (non-muscle invasive urothelial carcinoma) confirmed by a tissue sample test
- Your urologist has recommended that you receive a course of BCG treatment directly into the bladder
- You may have received certain chemotherapy drugs (gemcitabine, epirubicin, or mitomycin C) placed directly into the bladder immediately after your surgery
- If your partner could become pregnant, you must agree to use 2 acceptable forms of birth control during the study and for at least 3 months after stopping the study drug
Who may not be able to join:
- You have received a full course of BCG bladder treatment at any point in the last 5 years
- You have had a heart attack or been admitted to hospital for heart failure in the past 12 months, or you currently have an unstable heart condition
- You have high blood pressure that has not been controlled by medication, specifically a top blood pressure reading above 160 on two separate occasions
- You have a history of liver disease and your liver-related blood test results are more than twice the normal upper limit
- You have been diagnosed with low testosterone levels, are taking testosterone replacement therapy, or have prostate cancer or another condition being treated with hormonal therapy (confirm with trial site)
- You are currently receiving treatment for another cancer, or have cancer treatment planned soon, that may affect your survival or your bladder cancer treatment plan
- You have taken an experimental or investigational drug within 2 weeks before joining the study
- You are currently taking or planning to take warfarin (also known as coumadin), a blood-thinning medication
