Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are willing and able to give signed consent to participate
- People who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, acute leukaemia, lymphoma (Hodgkin or non-Hodgkin), or sarcoma (bone, soft tissue, or Ewing sarcoma), confirmed by tissue testing, and who have been assigned to receive chemotherapy for their condition
- People who have already started their menstrual periods (have had at least one period)
- People whose general health and ability to carry out daily activities meets a certain minimum standard (known as ECOG performance status 0–1 — confirm with trial site)
- People with adequately functioning bone marrow, kidneys, liver, and heart, and no other serious uncontrolled medical or mental health conditions
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose ovaries have already stopped working early (premature ovarian failure), based on symptoms or blood test results at the time of joining the trial
- People who have previously had both ovaries surgically removed, or for whom this surgery is planned
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding at the time chemotherapy is due to start
- People who have been diagnosed with another cancer within the last five years
- People with uncontrolled high blood pressure, or serious uncontrolled heart, liver, kidney, or other medical or mental health conditions, including a previous or current diagnosis of anorexia
- People who have been diagnosed with osteoporosis
- People with a known low platelet count that increases bleeding risk, or a platelet condition that does not respond to treatment (particularly in those with acute leukaemia)
- People with a known or suspected allergy to triptorelin (a medication used in the trial)
- People who have previously had, or are planned to have, direct radiation to the ovaries (whole-body radiation is allowed)
- People who, due to cognitive difficulties, unwillingness, or language barriers, would have difficulty understanding what participation in the study involves
