Who might be able to join this trial:

For people recently diagnosed with cancer ("cases"):

  • You have been newly diagnosed with cancer within the last 120 days, or have had a cancer come back after being cancer-free for more than 5 years, and your cancer is one of these types: Brain, Breast, Bladder, Cervical, Colorectal, Endometrial, Esophageal, Stomach, Head and Neck, Liver/Bile Duct, Lung, Ovarian, Pancreatic, Prostate, Kidney, Sarcoma, Thyroid, Leukemia, Lymphoma, or Multiple Myeloma.
  • You are able and willing to give your consent to take part in the study.
  • You are 40 years of age or older.

For people without a recent cancer diagnosis ("controls"):

  • You have not been diagnosed with any invasive cancer in the last 5 years (a history of non-invasive cancer is allowed).
  • You are able and willing to give your consent to take part in the study.
  • You are 40 years of age or older.

Who may not be able to join:

For people recently diagnosed with cancer ("cases"):

  • You are currently receiving any treatment for cancer.
  • You are currently taking medications known as demethylating agents or DNA hypomethylating agents (confirm with trial site).
  • You have been diagnosed with two or more invasive cancers at the same time.
  • You have been diagnosed with any other invasive or non-invasive cancer in the last 5 years, in addition to your current cancer.
  • You currently have a long-term blood cancer (such as chronic CLL) in addition to your current cancer.
  • You currently have a bone marrow condition such as myelodysplastic syndrome, or a precursor blood condition such as MGUS, in addition to your current cancer (confirm with trial site).
  • You are pregnant (based on self-report).

For people without a recent cancer diagnosis ("controls"):

  • You are currently receiving any treatment for cancer.
  • You are currently taking medications known as demethylating agents or DNA hypomethylating agents (confirm with trial site).
  • You are pregnant (based on self-report).
