Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults (men and women) aged 18 years or older
- People who have been diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer (a type of lung cancer) that has spread to the brain, confirmed by a biopsy — whether the brain tumors have already been treated or not
- People whose treating doctor estimates they are likely to live for at least 3 more months
- People who have stored tumor tissue samples available from a previous biopsy or surgery (tissue from a site where the cancer has spread is preferred if available)
- People who are physically able to tolerate all study procedures, including lying still for 30 to 60 minutes during scans
- People who are able to understand and willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study
- People who are already planned to receive further cancer treatment followed by standard follow-up imaging scans
- People who have had a specific type of scan called an FDG PET/CT within 21 days of joining the study
- People who have had a brain MRI scan within 21 days of joining the study
- People with a general health and activity level rated at 2 or below on a standard medical scale (meaning they are able to care for themselves but may not be able to do heavy physical work) (confirm with trial site)
- People whose kidneys are functioning at a sufficient level, measured by a blood test result of 60 or above (confirm with trial site)
Who may not be able to join:
- Women who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
- People who are currently incarcerated (prisoners)
- People who have another type of cancer at the same time that could make the scan results difficult to interpret accurately
- People who weigh more than 350 pounds (approximately 159 kg), as the PET/CT scanning equipment has a weight limit
