Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have a BMI of 30 or higher, OR a waist measurement greater than 94 cm (about 37 inches) for men or greater than 80 cm (about 31.5 inches) for women, with or without signs of metabolic syndrome
- You are between 18 and 70 years old (any sex)
- You have been diagnosed with fatty liver disease, confirmed through a special scan called a FibroScan or through other recognised scoring tests that measure liver fat and scarring (confirm with trial site)
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a normal body weight or are underweight
- You have another health condition that could affect how well your gut lining works or could separately cause fatty liver disease (confirm with trial site)
- You are currently using any medication, device, or treatment — medical or otherwise — that could affect your gut health or how your liver processes fat
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
