Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are veterans receiving outpatient care and support services at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System.
- People who are currently working with a mental health team at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System, are motivated to find work, and are looking for employment within 30 miles of the medical center.
- People who have been formally diagnosed with one of the following conditions: Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Bipolar I Disorder, Bipolar II Disorder, Recurrent Major Depressive Disorder, or PTSD.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a moderate or severe traumatic brain injury.
- People who have a neurological disease that significantly affects thinking and memory.
- People whose understanding of English is not sufficient to complete the study's tests and procedures.
- People whose baseline intellectual ability (measured by a standard assessment) falls below a certain threshold (confirm with trial site).
- People whose behaviour makes it difficult to take part in a group-based program.
- People whose hearing or vision difficulties would prevent them from completing the study's activities and assessments.
- People who are currently experiencing active thoughts of suicide, or who have been hospitalised in the past 4 weeks.
- People who currently have a severe alcohol or substance use disorder.
- People who are currently taking part in another mental health intervention research study.
- People who are unable to commit to 7–9 months of participation due to a planned move or unstable housing situation.
- People who are unable to provide informed consent to participate.
- People who have a legally appointed guardian responsible for their personal decisions.
