Who might be able to join this trial:
- Women over 18 years of age
- People with a confirmed diagnosis of cervical cancer (either adenocarcinoma or squamous carcinoma) that is at a specific stage — either Stage IB2 or IB3 with cancer spread to nearby lymph nodes, or Stage IIB through IVA
- People who have not previously received chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or radiation treatment for cervical cancer
- People who are in generally good physical health and able to carry out daily activities with little or no limitation (confirm with trial site for exact scoring)
- People who have at least one measurable area of cancer in the body that has not previously been treated with radiation
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose cervical cancer is of a specific rare type called small cell or neuroendocrine
- People who are planning to have a treatment that aims to preserve fertility
- People who have previously had a hysterectomy (surgical removal of the uterus)
- People whose cancer has spread to distant parts of the body, including certain lymph nodes outside the planned treatment area, as measured by specific medical imaging guidelines
- People who have previously received an organ transplant from another person
- People with a history of autoimmune or inflammatory conditions (where the immune system attacks the body)
- People with another serious illness that is not currently well managed
- People with a history of another cancer, or with an active condition that weakens the immune system
- People who currently have an active infection
- People whose blood test results fall outside acceptable ranges, including: low white blood cell, neutrophil, or platelet counts; low haemoglobin (iron-carrying cells in the blood); poor kidney function; liver enzyme levels that are too high; high bilirubin levels (a substance processed by the liver); or a positive test result indicating active hepatitis B or hepatitis C infection
- People who are currently taking immunosuppressive medications — such as steroids at higher than a certain dose — within two weeks of starting the trial
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
