Who might be able to join this trial:
- People between 18 and 65 years old
- People who are able to read, understand, and speak English well enough to take part safely
- People who have been clinically diagnosed with relapsing-remitting MS
- People who report having difficulty with walking
- People who are on stable doses of Ampyra, Provigil, or other medications taken to manage symptoms
- People who have not had an MS relapse or taken systemic steroids in the last 30 days
- People who are able to travel to the Boulder campus for sessions
Who may not be able to join:
- People with vision or hearing problems that have not been corrected
- People who have difficulty sensing temperature, pressure, or pain
- People with any arm or leg problems that would affect their ability to hold a weight
- People who have had surgery on their arms or legs that is still causing ongoing problems
- People who have metal implants in their body
- People who have a medical condition that would make exercise training unsafe, such as serious kidney, lung, liver, heart, or digestive conditions, HIV, cancer (other than treated skin cancer of the basal cell type), other neurological conditions, or pregnancy
- People with a history of head injury or stroke
- People currently taking antidepressants, anticholinergics, stimulants, sedatives, cannabis, illicit drugs, or medications for herpes or nerve pain
- People who have been diagnosed with diabetes
- People whose high blood pressure is not well controlled
- People with a history of seizure disorders
- People who drink two or more alcoholic drinks per day, or who have had a history of drug abuse in the last six months
- People whose muscle stiffness (spasticity) causes them to change their planned activities more than once a week
- People whose skin conditions or sensation problems in the legs or hands affect their activities more than once a week
- People who are not able to attend exercise sessions three days per week for six weeks
