Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been newly diagnosed with a specific type of nasopharyngeal cancer (non-keratinizing type, confirmed by tissue biopsy according to World Health Organization classification)
- People whose cancer has been staged as T3-4N1/N2-3, meaning the tumor is locally advanced with lymph node involvement (based on the 8th edition staging system)
- People whose cancer has not spread to distant parts of the body

- People whose blood counts are within acceptable ranges: white blood cell count, haemoglobin, and platelet levels all at or above specified minimum levels

- People whose kidneys are functioning well enough, with a creatinine clearance of at least 60 ml/min
- People who have given written informed consent after being told about the investigational nature of the study
- People whose tumor did not respond well (showed stable or worsening disease) after an initial course of chemotherapy given before the main treatment (called neoadjuvant chemotherapy)
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose cancer is of a different tissue type — specifically the keratinizing squamous cell or basaloid squamous cell type
- People whose treatment is planned with palliative (comfort-focused, non-curative) intent
- People who have had another cancer in the past, except for certain treated skin cancers or cervical cancer that had not spread beyond the surface
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who have previously received radiotherapy (except for certain non-melanoma skin cancers treated outside the planned radiation area)
- People who have previously received chemotherapy or surgery (other than for diagnosis) to the primary tumor or nearby lymph nodes
- People with serious ongoing health conditions that could increase risks or affect participation — for example, unstable heart disease, kidney disease, chronic hepatitis, poorly controlled diabetes, or significant emotional or psychological difficulties
- People whose tumor responded well (complete or partial response) to the initial course of chemotherapy given before the main treatment
