Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are thinking about having Endoscopic Bariatric Therapy (EBT) for weight loss
- People with a Body Mass Index (BMI) over 30, without any weight-related health conditions
- People with a BMI over 27, who also have health conditions related to their weight
- People who are willing and able to attend all required follow-up appointments for the study
- People who have previously had weight loss surgery but did not lose as much weight as expected, or who regained weight after surgery

Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a narrowing of the food pipe (oesophagus) that would prevent a camera scope from passing through during the initial examination
- People who have cancer of the oesophagus, stomach, or upper small intestine
- People with serious health conditions that make a camera scope procedure unsafe, or whose life expectancy is less than 2 years
- People with uncontrolled blood clotting problems, or who cannot safely stop taking blood thinners or anti-clotting medications for the required period around each procedure
- People with a known condition causing high blood pressure in the liver's blood vessels, or who have visible or prior swollen veins in the oesophagus or stomach
- People whose general health or combination of health conditions would make participation in the trial unsafe, as determined by the research team
- People who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant during the study period
- People who are unwilling or unable to give written consent to participate
- People who have previously had a surgical or endoscopic procedure to treat reflux (heartburn)
- People who are unwilling or unable to attend the required follow-up appointments
