Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are 18 years old or older and have been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis
  • You regularly attend follow-up appointments at UZ Leuven (a hospital in Belgium)
  • You have been diagnosed with a long-term sinus condition (with or without nasal polyps), and at least one of your sinus or nose symptoms — such as a blocked nose, runny nose, mucus dripping down your throat, facial pain or pressure, or reduced sense of smell — scores above 30 out of 100 on a symptom scale
  • You are willing to take part in the study and are able to follow the treatment plan as required

Who may not be able to join:

  • You are under 18 years old
  • You started taking a CFTR gene modulator medication (a specific type of cystic fibrosis treatment) less than 6 months before joining the trial
  • You are not willing to participate or are unable to follow the trial requirements
  • You have had a severe nosebleed in the last 6 months that needed treatment from an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialist
  • You have had an allergic reaction or severe allergic response to any of the ingredients in the sachets used in this trial — these include salt (NaCl), bicarbonate, mint, or Xylitol
