Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- You have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, Gaucher disease, or you are a healthy person willing to participate as a control.
- You are able to give written consent to take part, or if you have a physical limitation that prevents you from signing, another acceptable form of consent may be possible.
Who may not be able to join:
- If skin samples are being collected for this study: you have a history of forming unusually thick or raised scars (keloids), a blood clotting disorder, an allergy to local numbing medicine (anesthetic), or you take blood-thinning medication that could make it unsafe to collect a skin sample.
- If blood samples are being collected for this study: you have a blood clotting disorder or another health condition that makes blood collection more risky for you.
- For all sample collections: you are unwilling or unable to follow the safety rules set by the research organisation (NYSCF) or the collection site.
- For all sample collections: you have been diagnosed with AIDS and have a CD4 count (a measure of immune system cells) of fewer than 200 cells per microlitre of blood, due to a higher risk of infection.
