Who might be able to join this trial:

• Adults aged 18 or older
• People who have moderate-to-moderately-severe kidney disease (known as CKD stage 3 or 4), where the kidneys are filtering at a reduced but not critically low level
• People who have mild kidney disease (CKD stage 2) with high levels of a protein called albumin leaking into the urine — the specific threshold depends on whether or not the person also has diabetes
• People whose blood pressure is not well controlled, meaning the average of two blood pressure readings shows the top number is above 140

Who may not be able to join:

• People whose blood pressure is severely out of control, with the top number above 180
• People whose high blood pressure has not responded to treatment and who are already taking four blood pressure medications
• People who experience a significant drop in blood pressure when standing up (for example, feeling dizzy or faint after rising from a seated or lying position)
• People with very severe kidney disease, where the kidneys are filtering at a critically low level
• People with a life expectancy of less than one year
• People with severe liver disease
• People with severe heart failure
• People with severe memory or thinking problems caused by dementia
• People who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or unwilling to use reliable contraception during the trial
