Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults who identify as being of Latino heritage
- People who are a caregiver (not necessarily a biological relative) for a child or grandchild between 2 and 5 years old who has been assessed as overweight or obese (with a body mass index above the 85th percentile for their age and sex)
- People who live with or care for that child for at least 20 hours per week
- People who speak Spanish or English
- People who are able and willing to take part in the program, as assessed using a specific understanding and participation tool
- People who agree to take part in data collection at the start of the study and at 1, 6, and 12 months after the program ends
Who may not be able to join:
- Caregivers of a child who has a medical condition linked to weight gain, such as Prader-Willi Syndrome
- Caregivers of a child who is currently taking medication for weight loss
- Caregivers of a child who is currently taking part in a weight loss program
